So, if you frequent GoS, you may already know of the project I was working on. The sideboard/light based on this piece here.
What got me was the mapping, and then the footprint (but that just needed a fresh brain, actually). I will recolor this with a picture of a sun, too, just not now :P.
Anyway, without further ado, I present to you (a rhyme!).. the Full Moon sideboard/light:

Detail is much better in game and the shadow looks normal :P.
A picture of the light while lit is here.
Things to know
Cloned from "Tulip Light From Luxury" and it says Basegame. Let me know if it's not and I'll fix it.
I'm not quite sure if this is recolorable. If anyone tries before I do and it's not, let me know and I'll fix that too.
Poly: 254 (mainly the bulb, not sure if you need it)
Price in game: $700
Category: Lighting/Misc
Credits:
Generate Design
Blue sideboard texture (originally red)
Legs and underpart texture (originally gray)
Moon found using Google, just type "moon" into the picture search
Download
Wanna know anything else? Just ask :)
Edit: It has come to my attention that Junky has had a problem with the sideboard. Here's what occurred: "I put it in my game, and in build/buy mode, everything is fine. It lights up, looks awesome. However, when I went back to live mode, my sim was frozen, and I couldn't cancel their actions. I turned on the testing cheats, and the sideboard spit out an error at me and kept doing so until I hit "delete".
After some poking at it, I've found that the error only occurs when it's turned off. But when it gets turned on in build/buy mode or if I have a sim try and turn it on, I either get the frozen sim problem, or my sim just snap-resets." (taken directly from Junky's comment)
Please, let me know if you are having the same problem so we can work this out. This is my first from-scratch mesh, so I very may well have done something wrong when following the footprint tutorial or something. Thank you!

Date: 2010-04-21 09:33 pm (UTC)I wonder what could be causing this? Maybe it was that I had switched the on and off textures (so the on texture I made I put where the off texture was originally and the off texture I made I put where the on texture was originally, if you get what I mean). That's the only thing I can think of :\.
I'm not sure, though, if the resetting causes damage to sims, either, because I just moved a family in a lot that didn't have any relationships, skills, etc.
